Hi! I’m Nic.
To describe myself in vague, short terms: 27 years old, black, queer, foodie from the U.S.
I’ve had a love for food since I can remember. I love to cook, bake, and eat in equal proportions. I went to culinary school in 2017, earned a degree in Pastry, and have since made a career out of making sweets.
I loved school, and I wanted to go back to learn more about savory cooking. But, it’s a bit expensive, to say the least. So I started looking into other options. And landed on this project. My Food Library.
My Food Library will be a collection of essays on different food-related subjects including, but not limited to, Food History, Food Science, Food Politics, Food Culture, etc.
My plan for this blog is to read books on these subjects and, once finished with a book, write an in-depth essay on what I learned and how I can apply it to how I cook today.
The goal is to expand my knowledge on the subject and share my findings with whomever may be interested. Hopefully in the process I become a better cook, baker, writer, and person.
Thank you for reading!
